The bravest 13 year old in the world
Please note: from what I understand, no where in the koran does it state that a woman must wear a hijab (veil). It only states that she must dress modestly.
Its technically true that the covering of the hair, much less the face is not ordained anywhere in the Qur'an.
The Qur'an asks both men and women to dress "modestly" and to cover their private parts.
The word modesty is of course a very subjective term, as each culture has different ideas as to what "modesty" means.
BUT nonetheless, many Muslims do believe that the veil is mandatory and its not for any of us to really interpret their religion for them, especially if it doesn't harm us in any way.
