After my article about the "suicide" of Mr. Michael Todd, who was 50 years old and decided to walk to the mountains way o'er in the UK during blizzard conditions to (get this!) drink himself to death... during a blizzard. Read that article, I implore you (oh yeah - Mr. Todd, the top policeman in the whole of UK at the time, was investigating rendition by the CIA in Britain).
So, I wondered if there were any interesting "suicides" in this country.
Associated Press: Police: 'D.C. madam' kills herself in Fla. coastal town AP Article here
A woman convicted two weeks ago of being the "D.C. Madam" hanged herself Thursday, apparently making good on her vow never to go to prison for running a high-end Washington prostitution ring.
The body of Deborah Jeane Palfrey was found in a shed near her mother's home about 20 miles northwest of Tampa. Police said the 52-year-old Palfrey left at least two suicide notes and other writings to her family in a notebook, but they did not disclose their contents.
Lets re-read the last paragraph. It's a fun game.
There were two suicide notes, and a notebook, probably naming names of her clients...? But no need to trouble yourself over the Congressmen who were her clients. Nothing to see here, move right along now!
Source: Prison Planet, a site run by alex Jones.
Yes, I know many people look upon Alex Jones as a joke. However, in this case take him seriously, as he interviewed this "DC Madam" in August 1991.
Here's what she said:
"If taken into custody, my physical safety and most probably my very life would be jeopardized," she wrote in August 1991 following an attempt to bring her to trial, "Rape, beating, maiming, disfigurement and more than likely murder disguised in the form of just another jailhouse accident or suicide would await me," said Palfrey in a handwritten letter to the judge accusing the San Diego police vice squad of having a vendetta against her.
The article continues:
During several recent appearances on The Alex Jones Show, Palfrey also said that she was at risk of being killed and that authorities would make it look like suicide. She made it clear that she was not suicidal and if she was found dead it would be murder.
Palfrey had threatened to release the names of well-known clients of her upscale call girl ring in the nation's capitol, and had indicated that Dick Cheney may be one of them.
Re-read the last one.
"Palfrey had threatened to release the names of well-known clients of her upscale call girl ring in the nation's capitol, and had indicated that Dick Cheney may be one of them."
And don't think the names in her notebook will ever be released. Ever.
Suicide. Solves this problem in a very tidy way.
Last paragraph from the article.
"No I'm not planning to commit suicide," Palfrey told The Alex Jones Show on her last appearance in March, "I'm planning on going into court and defending myself vigorously and exposing the government," she said.
""No I'm not planning to commit suicide," Palfrey told The Alex Jones Show on her last appearance in March, "I'm planning on going into court and defending myself vigorously and exposing the government," she said."
Uhh... how stupid do they think we Americans are to buy this bullshit... oh, wait. Americans. We put up with anything. As long as we gots our American Idol on, itz all good!
Source: Associated Press: France sends detectives for inquiry into mysterious death of San Francisco man Article here.
The last time anyone saw Hugues de la Plaza alive, he was out celebrating a promotion with a few friends at a nightclub.
Later that night, the gregarious audio engineer with U.S. and French citizenship made a drunken call to a friend, and they made plans to see a movie the next day. Some six hours later, a neighbor noticed blood dripping from the doorknob and porch at de la Plaza's apartment building.
Police found de la Plaza lying in a pool of blood in his living room, an open laptop on a coffee table and a broken wine glass nearby. Suicide, San Francisco police say.
Suicide. Paperwork for a murder is a bitch so why the fuck bother?
The detectives are not paid for solving a murder anyway - they get paid regardless. So just show up, look at a guy lying on the floor in a pool of his own blood. Just say fuck it, pronounce it a suicide, and go for donuts.
The French, however, aren't so sure.
To de la Plaza's parents, Francois and Mireille de la Plaza, who live in Brignogan on the Atlantic coast of France, the San Francisco police appeared too busy or uninterested to fully investigate their only son's death. They lobbied the French government, which has taken the unusual step of ordering Parisian detectives to investigate and conduct their own forensic tests.
Disgrace. Fucking national disgrace. Shame of a nation, American police.
Lets get the details of this suicide:
De la Plaza, 36, was found in June with stab wounds to his neck, chest and stomach. Strands of hair were stuck to the fingers of his left hand. And yet, neither a bloody weapon nor a suicide note were found. Blood was tracked from the kitchen, through the living room and out the front door.
Yep, suicide! Clear as day!
Unless you have some pull, you are a well known person, or rich, or have connections, if you happen to end up with a bloody knife in your back, you will be pronounced a suicide. The police in this country are too busy to be bothered.
The Statesman: Man found in Lady Bird Lake was teacher, FBI target (Police said that victim, who taught at a Southwest Austin middle school, may have committed suicide) Article here:
Austin police said Thursday that they are leaning toward a ruling of suicide in the death of a middle school teacher and activist whose body was found Wednesday in Lady Bird Lake with his hands and legs bound and tape over his eyes.
Focus on the word activist, which I will talk about later.
Police identified Riad Hamad, 55, at a news conference Thursday and said the binding of his limbs and the placement of the tape was consistent with Hamad having done it himself.
Yes, it is normal for a person who wants to kill himself to first bind his arms and legs, and then put a tape over his eyes and only then throw himself into a lake...somehow.
It's ok - this is for American consumption, and Americans - we buy everything they say, we don't question, why bother. I mean a guy wanted to kill himself so he bound his legs and feet then for extra fun he bound his eyes so he couldn't see with a tape and only then hobbled into a lake to drown.
What the fuck's so suspicious about that?
Lets dig into the background of Mr. Riad Hamad (R.I.P.).
Riad Hamad is a non-violent activist in Austin, Texas. He holds multiple Master's degrees and has never been arrested. He is now under surveillance by the FBI because he organized the shipment of books to Palestinian children. He speaks about the impact FBI attacks have had on his family, his freedoms, and his perception of America.
Under surveillance by the FBI? He was an activist on behalf of Palestinians! A terrarist!
Source: islam online.net:
Apparently Mr. Riad Hamad had the chutzpah to write a letter to bush. Here are parts of the letter:
To: George Bush,
President of the United States of America
I was very amused last week when I was trying to get into my car in the morning on my way to work, when my neighbor across the street came out and asked me if we could talk. Although I was in a hurry since I was late, I listened to him since he said that the topic was important. My neighbor told me that he was approached by the FBI and was asked many questions about me and was asked to put a camera in his house to watch me. The request was denied, as my neighbor, who happened to be a Libertarian, did not trust the motives of the FBI. Also, my neighbor told him that, “Riad is my friend and I would not spy on him.” Apparently, the agent did not give up and told my neighbor that he would call on him again.
I have my issues with Libertarians, but goddamn - god bless you neighbor whoever you are.
Although I knew and expected such activities by the FBI, I was surprised about their lack of professionalism and the absence of decency. I carry my Iraqi flags to every rally and I am always the loudest and the most obvious. Hundreds of people come and ask me about the flags as they do not know which countries the flags stand for, and I have to say, “These are the flags of the countries that your tax money is paying to occupy, kill and maim,” since not many of them knew the colors of the flags of Palestine or Iraq. For the FBI to have to go and knock on my neighbor’s doors is very unprofessional and illegal.
So he was a peace activist and carried flags of Iraq and Palestine to political rallies, with no criminal record. And the FBI hassled his neighbor and tried to force him to install a camera to keep Mr. Hamad under surveillance. Is this still the United States of America - or Soviet Union reborn?
He ended the letter thus:
Get the hell out of my life and take your FBI thugs from our neighborhood because they are not wanted.
For whatever it's worth, here are many others, of which the most interesting is this one, the highest ranking officer to die in Iraq - "suicide" of course:
The note found next to his body, which his mother refuses to accept as a suicide note, includes this line: "I didn't volunteer to support corrupt, money grubbing contractors ... "
I am a cynical bastard, but I can only take so much.
