American Goy's take on Elections in the Yoo Ess of Ey

The United States is the only country in the world where elections take place duing normal work week day. THE ONLY ONE.

Voting is not encouraged here by any means, and this fact proves it. After all, do you really want to lose your job by quitting early or coming in late to vote? The boss might not be too understanding...

Second, in every NORMAL DEMOCRACY, when people vote, the votes that they cast are counted by humans. Usually representatives of the parties participated in the vote count them by hand. Sometimes it is 3 or more people who do that.

The process has 2 main advantages.

One - the people, representing various political views and party affiliations, will not miscount "by accident" to favor their candidate - because the other people will catch it. And correct it.

Second - because these people are volunteers - the process is FREE. These people count the votes in a fool proof system for FREE. No money spent by the government to count the votes.


Now In the Yoo Ess of Ey we are more cultured and advanced technologically than other democracies, such as Japan, Germany, France, etc etc. We are better because use electronic machines to count the votes.

Which have two main advantages to the people who really rule this country.

One - the machines are not free, and they cost money to produce and operate. Good for business, and America is nothing if not a pro business country.

Two - the machines vote exactly how they are programmed to vote... or how a nice "employee" who changes one line of code tells it to. The votes are counted by individual machines, but the results of each machine's vote are sent to a central location with a stack of big servers. And while people huff and puff and look at the counting machine as if they could use x-ray vision and see what its doing inside, no one from the government, nor volunteer "watchers" of elections is in the central server hub where votes are tabulated. And counted.

You see - its private company property.

Do you see the beauty of this arrgangement yet?

If you are an American, and you still think that you live in a democracy, I pity you.

It still makes me mildly amused when Americans discuss this candidates chances or that candidates experience. As if they are, themselves, deciding on who will be elected president.

It is a sick joke that an election in Rwanda is now more honest (with UN observers) than one in the great Yoo Ess of Ey.
