Why does Israel want Syria destroyed?

The stupid people and propaganda specialists try to obfuscate the issue of Syria with regards to Israel.  The argument goes something like this: Why would Israel want to take out a secular dictator and replace him with al kaida terrorists?

Three answers to that.

One.
Guess who provided (100% true, I am sure) intelligence re: Syrian chemical attack?

No points for guessing - our buddy Israel.

The Guardian: Israeli intelligence 'intercepted Syrian regime talk about chemical attack', dated Wednesday 28 August 2013 04.25 EDT.

If it wasn't in Israel's interests, then its security agencies would not have staged a false flag terrorist atrocity provided intelligence to USA and UK.

They would have simply sat on it.

Two.
Do a quick read through about a Professor Emeritus of Middle Eastern and Ottoman Studies, Princeton University, one Bernard Lewis.

Autumn 1992: Influential Neoconservative Academic Advocates Breaking Up Middle Eastern Countries, Including Iraq:

Princeton University professor Bernard Lewis publishes an article in the influential journal Foreign Affairs called “Rethinking the Middle East.” In it, he advocates a policy he calls “Lebanonization.”

He says, “[A] possibility, which could even be precipitated by [Islamic] fundamentalism, is what has late been fashionable to call ‘Lebanonization.’

Most of the states of the Middle East—Egypt is an obvious exception—are of recent and artificial construction and are vulnerable to such a process. If the central power is sufficiently weakened, there is no real civil society to hold the polity together, no real sense of common identity.…

Then state then disintegrates—as happened in Lebanon—into a chaos of squabbling, feuding, fighting sects, tribes, regions, and parties.” Lewis, a British Jew, is well known as a longtime supporter of the Israeli right wing. Since the 1950s, he has argued that the West and Islam have been engaged in a titanic “clash of civilizations” and that the US should take a hard line against all Arab countries.

Lewis is considered a highly influential figure to the neoconservative movement, and some neoconservatives such as Richard Perle and Harold Rhode consider him a mentor.

Lebanonization.  Syria's Baath (secular, fascist) regime was a thorn in Israel's side  for a long time.  They support (not 100% control, though) Hezbollah and Hamas and do stick their noses into the Lebanese byzantine plots and politics.  And of course Hezbollah and Hamas are Israel's enemies (peruse CFR's propaganda piece, State Sponsor: Syria)

Worse, Syria is an ally of Iran, despite the two countries being diametrically different - one is a secular, fascist state and the other is a religious theocracy (BBC news, dated

General Wesley Clark, March 2, 2007:

No points for guessing what country will be "liberated" by USA after "helping" Syria.

Iran.

The strategy of breaking apart surrounding states into war-torn fragmented fiefdoms is even older than this. Try Googling "Oded Yinon"+"A Strategy for Israel in the 1980's" and you'll see this plan was already in place 30 years ago.

In this podcast interview of Eric Margolis (a fomer ABC reporter with a Jewish father and an Albanian Muslim mother) you'll see that the strategy dates back even further to Vladimir Jabotinsky, who said that all the Arab states were fragile mosaics that would shatter into fragments if only you smash them hard enough:

Too much blind patriotism in Murka.

Nice to see some comments. The blog has really fallen in readership , chiefly due to my infrequent posting, and also because there is so much good stuff out there!

Thanks for the link Occidentalist.

Despite warnings of my family re: the blog (my grandparents have lived through German and Soviet occupation and secret police raids, so they can recognize the signs) I have decided that, since the blog is read by roughly 10 people, why not continue it - I am much too small a fish to be set upon by our betters (TM).

As a reward to my readers, and to make you feel so much better about this country, let me post you yet another example of "foot in the door" technique on the whole American society:

Fwiw, this is a great column by Paul Craig Roberts raising good questions about the real reason why Kerry & BO want war on Syria:

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article36176.htm

The obama Regime’s case is nonexistent. It rests on nothing that indicates responsibility. The obama Regime’s case is nothing but an unsubstantiated allegation...obama and kerry, say Assad did it, but they admit that they cannot prove it. It is what they want to believe, because they want it to be true. The lie serves their undeclared agenda.

If obama and kerry were to tell the public the real reasons they want to attack Syria, they would be removed from office.

The entire world is teetering on a war, the consequences of which are unknown, for no other reason than two people...are determined to serve a tiny collection of warmongers consisting of the crazed, murderous Israeli government and their Muslim-hating neoconservative agents, who comprise a fifth column inside the obama Regime...

Assad did not start the war. The Syrian government was attacked by outside forces sent in by Washington and Israel.

If Syria is a “threat to world security,” like Iraq was a “threat to world security,” like Iran is alleged to be a “threat to world security,” what kind of superpower is the United States? How low does the IQ have to be, how mentally impaired does the public have to be to fall for these absurd hysterical allegations?

Let’s turn obama’s claim upon the Fool. Why isn’t it a threat to global security for obama to attack Syria?

...obama is the puppet of the crazed Israeli government and his neoconservative national security advisor, [is] in effect an Israeli agent, and just because the Ministry of Propaganda, including NPR, repeats every obama lie as if it were the truth.

Forget about the US media, which is nothing but a propaganda ministry for the Israel Lobby. What the members of Congress and what the American people need to ask obama is why does the White House only represent the Israel Lobby?

No one supports an attack on Syria but the Israel Lobby.

What is really amazing is that in a country which claims to value free speech and to value the free exchange of ideas in a "marketplace of ideas" relatively obvious questions like the ones PCR is raising are never ever heard in the msm. Even in academia, one can criticize "American imperialism" and the corporations which are often said to be the sole factor shaping policy, but questioning the role of Jewish interests in shaping both policy and the media coverage of the "debate" about Syria are strictly verboten. Those are the kinds of ideas that are never allowed to enter the "marketplace of ideas" that free-thinking, open minded types who dominate academia and media claim to value so greatly.

Even in the world's foreign press, few government officials would dare suggest that policy formation is shaped by Jews acting for the collective benefit of their fellow Jews, rather than their fellow countrymen.

You have to give Roberts credit for being willing to say the obvious, the lies being dished up to get America into another war are so obvious they are not credible. But the most important part is that they serve and "undeclared agenda", and the reason the agenda is not declared is that the public (and maybe even most Jews?) would never tolerate such an agenda.

What disappoints me is that so few "dissidents" like those in academia who rail against American imperialism are willing to acknowledge the importance of any agenda other than the one that oil companies or defense contractors have. That may be an important part of the picture, but it is not the whole story. And many of them know it.

Thanks for comment.

The bombshell of Snowden's revelations published in the Guardian re: confirmation of NSA (and by extension, USA) being an Israeli tool prompted me to write a quick article, linking to the (unfortunately not so famous) James Bamford book quotes re: Israeli spying on American telephone communications and NSA having "secret" rooms in all tele companies where their experts worked to monitor all communications throughout a company.

However, I (and many others) are getting an error message:

"You have logged out from another location. Do you want to log in again?"

And I cannot use blogger to, well, blog.

Unfortunately, as a tin foil conspiracy nut, the timing of this error strikes me as very inopportune, what with the Snowden NSA-Israel bombshell and the ongoing Syria debacle.

The internet is supremely important, because it is the ONLY place where honest discussion of issues takes place, racists, reatards, warts and all. Such a discussion is never, and won't be ever, allowed in professional corporate media.

It is the internet which made a slam dunk "just like Iraq" Syrian "very limited intervention" a no-go for our, errr, I mean, Zionist elites...

I am wondering now how the elites will tackle this internet threat, because if it continues the way it is then this freedom of information and discussion and ability to analyze events based on MULTIPLE sources will stop their plans cold.

Come on.

You realize that even mentioning "Israel" or "Jewish Lobby" in any professional setting is a death to any person's career who dares to speak out.

It is akin to me saying in an office "You know, perhaps there is something genetically different between black and White race, and that is why there are no modern examples of a successful black civilization and everywhere where they are a majority it is a big cesspool...
