News from the "holy land"

New York Times, JULY 5, 2014, by JODI RUDOREN

JERUSALEM — An autopsy of the Palestinian teenager who was snatched from an East Jerusalem street and slain on Wednesday found soot in his lungs that suggests he was burned alive, according to a senior Palestinian official briefed on the preliminary results.
The autopsy showed that the teenager, Muhammad Hussein Abu Khdeir, 16, who was buried as a martyr on Friday in a funeral that drew thousands, had a head injury and burns over 90 percent of his body, the Palestinian attorney general, Mohammed al-A’wewy, wrote on his agency’s official website.

Florida radio station says boy who appears in video being beaten by three Border Police officers is Tariq Khdeir, 15.
The Palestinian youth who was caught on video earlier this week being beaten by members of the Israeli Border Police is a United States citizen from Florida, according to the website of an Orlando, Florida, radio station.

The station,, named the youth as Tariq Khdeir, 15, a cousin of Muhammed Abu Khdeir, the 16-year-old Palestinian whose burned body was found Wednesday in the Jerusalem Forest.

Khdeir, according to the station, is a high school sophomore in Tampa, who was visiting his Palestinian relatives in Shuafat, Jerusalem, for the first time in over a decade when he was beaten and detained.

The incident took place on Thursday outside the home of the murdered teenager, said to be his cousin. The Forward quoted the Council on American-Islamic Relations as saying that he suffered serious injuries in the beating and is being held under police guard at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.

Khdeir is due to be brought before a judge in Jerusalem on Sunday, Ma'an news agency reported.

Happy 4th of July, Independence Day to all Americans!

Make sure you pay your taxes on time so more of this stuff can happen, paid by your money.

Meanwhile, in the "land of the free"...
