This gem comes from that site, under the title:
Autumn 1992: Influential Neoconservative Academic Advocates Breaking Up Middle Eastern Countries, Including Iraq
Princeton University professor Bernard Lewis publishes an article in the influential journal Foreign Affairs called “Rethinking the Middle East.” In it, he advocates a policy he calls “Lebanonization.” He says, “[A] possibility, which could even be precipitated by [Islamic] fundamentalism, is what has late been fashionable to call ‘Lebanonization.’ Most of the states of the Middle East—Egypt is an obvious exception—are of recent and artificial construction and are vulnerable to such a process. If the central power is sufficiently weakened, there is no real civil society to hold the polity together, no real sense of common identity.… Then state then disintegrates—as happened in Lebanon—into a chaos of squabbling, feuding, fighting sects, tribes, regions, and parties.” Lewis, a British Jew, is well known as a longtime supporter of the Israeli right wing. Since the 1950s, he has argued that the West and Islam have been engaged in a titanic “clash of civilizations” and that the US should take a hard line against all Arab countries. Lewis is considered a highly influential figure to the neoconservative movement, and some neoconservatives such as Richard Perle and Harold Rhode consider him a mentor. In 1996, Perle and others influenced by Lewis will write a paper for right wing Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu entitled “A Clean Break” that advocates the “Lebanonization” of countries like Iraq and Syria (see July 8, 1996). Lewis will remain influential after 9/11. For instance, he will have dinner with Vice President Cheney shortly before the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. Some will later suspect that Cheney and others were actually implementing Lewis’s idea by invading Iraq. Chas Freeman, former US ambassador to Saudi Arabia, will say in May 2003, just after the invasion, “The neoconservatives’ intention in Iraq was never to truly build democracy there. Their intention was to flatten it, to remove Iraq as a regional threat to Israel.” [Dreyfuss, 2005, pp. 330-337]
Do you guys get it?
This does not take a rocket scientist to figure out, nor a foreign policy specialist, nor a CIA paid analyst.
The dots are all connected right here.
Like I kept saying in my blog, again and again and again, making Iraq a democracy was the plan put forward by the establishment as a smoke screen, a facade, a mirage.
In other words, the "lets make Iraq a democracy" was never the plan (perhaps the idiot boy president, the cheerleader in charge, "W" Bush actually believed it - the man really IS dumb).
But rather, the plan was to take out threats to Israel, using American military might and its money. The threats to Israel being, in order, Iraq, Iran and Syria.
The plan was never to remake the Middle East into democracies, the plan was the "Lebanonization" of the region. The whole "lets make Iraq" into a democracy was a smoke screen, blown up gullible (and quite stupid, not familiar with the world other than from watching the pictures on CNN and FOX) Americans' collective ass.
Princeton University professor Bernard Lewis published an article in the influential journal Foreign Affairs called “Rethinking the Middle East” in Autumn 1992.
Think on that for a moment.
This has been coming for a long time, and 9/11 was a godsend to neoconservatives allowing them to REALLY put the plan into motion.
The plan was always to hit, disarm and throw into anarchy, "Lebanonize", Arab countries that are hostile to Israel using America - US Army, US Marines, US Navy, US Air Force...
This is so mind blowing that I will now repeat the parts of the article from cooperativeresearch.org that profile neocon academic Bernard Lewis.
This is the genesis of the "Clean Break", the birth of PNAC:
"Princeton University professor Bernard Lewis publishes an article in the influential journal Foreign Affairs called “Rethinking the Middle East.”
In it, he advocates a policy he calls “Lebanonization.”
He says, “[A] possibility, which could even be precipitated by [Islamic] fundamentalism, is what has late been fashionable to call ‘Lebanonization.’ Most of the states of the Middle East—Egypt is an obvious exception— are of recent and artificial construction and are vulnerable to such a process. If the central power is sufficiently weakened, there is no real civil society to hold the polity together, no real sense of common identity.… Then state then disintegrates—as happened in Lebanon—into a chaos of squabbling, feuding, fighting sects, tribes, regions, and parties.”"
This guy wanted to throw the WHOLE Middle East into chaos, to precipitate civil wars and bloodshed, and one way he suggested to do it was to SUPPORT Islamic Fundamentalism (for example, the Islamic Brotherhood in Egypt, and al Kaida - THAT kind Islamic Fundamentalism this guy wanted to support).
He wanted all the countries hostile to Israel to turn into another version of Lebanon - with its hundreds of thousands of victims of its horrifying civil war. The Lebanese Civil War started in 1975 and ended in 1990 - quite a fate professor Lewis wants for the entire Middle East (save, of course, Israel...).
The cooperativeresearch.org site article on Lewis continues:
"Lewis, a British Jew, is well known as a longtime supporter of the Israeli right wing. Since the 1950s, he has argued that the West and Islam have been engaged in a titanic “clash of civilizations” and that the US should take a hard line against all Arab countries. Lewis is considered a highly influential figure to the neoconservative movement, and some neoconservatives such as Richard Perle and Harold Rhode consider him a mentor."
This is the granddaddy of "Clean Break", of PNAC, of our Iraq War... The chaos in Iraq, the civil war between Shia, Sunni and now the Sadr led Shia and the Iranian led, American supported Shia of the "legitimate" (snort!) government of Iraq, is not a mistake - THAT was the plan all along!
A mentor to Perle, indeed!
"In 1996, Perle and others influenced by Lewis will write a paper for right wing Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu entitled “A Clean Break” that advocates the “Lebanonization” of countries like Iraq and Syria"
No shit? So everything I wrote on this blog about Iraq War 2, the "Clean Break" paper, the PNAC - it is 100% confirmed (again and again and again!).
Islamic Fundamentalism was used to destabilize the region, and al Kaida came in particularly useful in providing the "new Pearl Harbour" which the neocons openly called for, to involve America in this grand crusade to fuck up the Middle East.
But in the end, it was not Islamic religious nutjobs that were finally used as an instrument of choice for the neocons - the tool that was used to "Lebanonize" Iraq and, if the neocons have their way, to soon do the same to Iran and then Syria is the United States military - your children, America...
The plan was never to make Iraq an American style democracy - the plan was to fuck it up, and fuck it up in such a way that it would turn into a civil war situation, like Lebanon in the 1980's.
And, looking at reports on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, reading newspapers and blogs - you have to say to the neocons, mission accomplished in Iraq! Good job, neocons! Iraq is not a danger to Israel anymore, and over a million people lost their lives in a civil war - hell, a "Mad Max" movie more than a civil war by now.
And all accomplished using American soldiers; it was cheap for the neocons, only 4000 American soldiers dead and who really knows how many Iraqis dead - a million by now, by some estimates.
However, the neocons are getting all nervous, as the idiot president's reign is coming to an end. And it is just possible, that if McCain nor Clinton is not elected, that perhaps, just perhaps, Obama will put a stop on the plan to continue professor Lewis' vision to "Lebanonize" the Middle East.
There is a slim hope of that... But hey, maybe Obama is for real (doubts will come in next article).
Lets continue with the cooperativeresearch.org article, last snippet:
"Chas Freeman, former US ambassador to Saudi Arabia, will say in May 2003, just after the invasion, “The neoconservatives’ intention in Iraq was never to truly build democracy there. Their intention was to flatten it, to remove Iraq as a regional threat to Israel.”"
WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT ME TO WRITE?
What is left to write about on my blog?
What are YOU gonna do about this?
Make sure to congratulate a soldier, especially if he or she is your child coming back from Iraq, and especially if he or she is maimed for life because of a lost leg, eye, arm, fingers, bones...
...Israel thanks them for their good work - now onward to Iran, and then Syria. The plan is in motion.

This verbiage indicates you might look a little further back:
"February 1982: Article in Israeli Journal Says Israel Should Exploit Internal Tensions of Arab States The winter issue of Kivunim, a “A Journal for Judaism and Zionism,” publishes “A Strategy for Israel in the Nineteen Eighties” by Oded Yinon. The paper, published in Hebrew, rejects the idea that Israel should carry through with the Camp David accords and seek peace. Instead, Yinon suggests that the Arab States should be destroyed from within by exploiting their internal religious and ethnic tensions: “Lebanon’s total dissolution into five provinces serves as a precedent for the entire Arab world including Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and the Arabian peninsula and is already following that track. The dissolution of Syria and Iraq later on into ethnically or religiously unique areas such as in Lebanon, is Israel’s primary target on the Eastern front in the long run, while the dissolution of the military power of those states serves as the primary short term target. Syria will fall apart, in accordance with its ethnic and religious structure, into several states such as in present day Lebanon.” [Kivunim, 2/1982]

Here is what is essential:
"Yinon suggests that the Arab States should be destroyed from within by exploiting their internal religious and ethnic tensions:"
Hell isn't that what is happening in Iraq now with the Sunnis, Shias, Kurds, Yezhedis, and Christians, (and whatever secular Iraqis that there are). Come to think of it, isn't that what the ACLU and other far left organizations do to America by promoting mass immigration from foreign races and cultures HERE? Divide and conquer, and if you cant, bring in new and different people and THEN divide and conquer. If you can wind up in de facto control of the media, its a pretty easy trick, and since "they" have FOX news and National Review and The Weekly Standard, and TownHall, and Commentary, and the New York Sun, and the Washington Times, and the American Spectator, and New Republic...............its not very difficult to agitate for the things they desire.
