The Federal Reserve, usually shortened to "the Fed" on American TV and radio "news" shows, is "the central banking system of the United States. Created in 1913 by the enactment of the Federal Reserve Act, it is a quasi-public (part private, part government) banking system composed of the presidentially appointed Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C.; the Federal Open Market Committee; 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks located in major cities throughout the nation acting as fiscal agents for the U.S. Treasury, each with its own nine-member board of directors; numerous private U.S. member banks, which subscribe to required amounts of non-transferable stock in their regional Federal Reserve Banks; and various advisory councils." (quoted from Wikipedia article on the Fed).
That's a mouthful - nice wall of text there, Wiki!
Lets look at the current members of the Board.
Hmm, all white guys.
For my money, and because I am mostly a dyed in the rastafarian t-shirt liberal (yes, really) - because we live in a multi-racial and multi-religious society, the over-representation of one race, or one religion, or even one sex in, arguably, the most powerful organization in America, that is able to make or break this country (and indeed, the Fed's power is such that just by cutting or raising interest rates they impact the whole world) is BAD.
So, if the Fed was mostly composed of Chinese-Americans, I would be blogging about dual loyalty, and that it was a dangerous situation and that the Fed Board needs more diversity.
But there are no Chinese-Americans on the Board.
If the Fed was mostly composed of African-Americans, as a white guy I would blog that perhaps this is reverse racism, and it needs to be more diverse.
If the Fed was composed of all French immigrants to America, or all Baptists, or all women, I would blog... yeah, you get me by now.
So, lets investigate the Fed and see how diverse their membership is (well, it fucking isn't as they are all white, but lets investigate anyway - perhaps their religious backgrounds are different, making them somewhat diverse).
Lets examine the Fed Board bit by bit then...
Lets start with "the presidentially appointed Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C.". The best source for this is the Fed's own website, spotlighting all the members of the Board.
These are the guys who make the decisions, who call the shots - these are the CEO's of this organization, its leaders. What they say, goes, usually, when voting is tallied. The big kahunas, the big cheeses, the....
Lets take the easy route and go to Wikipedia article, in here, starting with Ben S. Bernanke, the Chairman of the Fed - the biggest kahnua, the big cheese, the...
Ben Shalom Bernanke (interesting middle name - "Hello" Bernanke!), the chairman:
His younger brother, Seth, is currently a lawyer in Charlotte, NC, and his younger sister, Sharon, is a prior student and longtime administrator at Berklee School of Music in Boston. His father Philip was a pharmacist and part-time theater manager, and his mother Edna was originally a schoolteacher. They were one of the few Jewish families in the area, attending a local synagogue called Ohav Shalom; as a child, Bernanke learned Hebrew from his maternal grandfather Harold Friedman, who was a professional Torah reader and Hebrew teacher.
OK, Mr. Bernanke is Jewish. Pretty obvious.
Looking some more at Wikipedia...
Great, Wikipedia is well organized, and on the bottom of the page we have a link to the Current members of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System of the United States, as well as the Categories that Ben Shalom Bernanke belongs to in Wikipedia.
Lets see - 1953 births, American academics, American bankers, American businesspeople... oh, and Jewish business people.
Well, figures - with a name like that, as well as his early life, obviously this guy is a Jewish American.
Lets see - there is the "Current members of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System of the United States" box, lets click on SHOW and all the five names of the current Board members show up.
Ah, here we go - Ben Bernanke (chairman) • Donald Kohn (vice-chairman) • Randall Kroszner • Frederic Mishkin • Kevin Warsh.
Lets click on Donald Kohn (vice chairman).
Good economic background. Lets see the categories: Living people, People from Philadelphia, American Jews, Jewish business people...
Ah, OK, so he is a member of the Living People category on Wikipedia. As well as the two categories: American Jews and Jewish business people.
So, he is also a Jew. And a living person. He shares two Categories with Mr. Bernanke. Great!
Clicking on Randall Kroszner...
Born in New Jersey, went to Brown University, and what follows is a great economic background. Just on a hunch, lets go to categories: Federal Reserve economists | Federal Reserve System governors | University of Chicago faculty | People from Englewood, New Jersey | Brown University alumni | Harvard University alumni | American Jews...
OK, here it is - he is also (according to Wikipedia) an American Jew. And a Living Person. Again, those two Categories pop up.
Lets click some more - this time on Frederic Mishkin.
Mishkin was born in New York City. He received a B.S. (1973) and Ph.D. (1976), both in economics, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1999, he received an honorary professorship from the People's (Renmin) University of China.
Mishkin is married and has two children. His late father, Sidney Mishkin, endowed the Sidney Mishkin Gallery at Baruch College of the City University of New York.
Baruch College - can it be that...?
Lets go to categories: Princeton University faculty | Northwestern University faculty | University of Chicago faculty | 1951 births | American Jews | Living people...
Well, OK. Curious fact. A Living Person and also in the American Jews Category.
Lets go to the last member of the Board of Governors, Kevin Warsh.
Harvard, Morgan Stanley, Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Executive Secretary of the National Economic Council. Great CV!
On a hunch, lets go to the Categories: Federal Reserve System governors | Stanford University alumni | Harvard Law School alumni | People from Albany, New York | American Jews | 1970 births | Living people.
Well, of course!
Now it's all clear.
All the Current members of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System of the United States are in the Category: Living People and also all are Jews.
OK, so we have established that all 5 of the Current members of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System of the United States are Living People.
Lets move on.
The Wikipedia article states that after the presidentially appointed Board, the Fed is composed of the Federal Open Market Committee.
Lets dig into that.
The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), is charged under U.S. law with overseeing open market operations in the United States, and is the principal tool of US national monetary policy. (Open market operations are the buying and selling of government securities.
What about its membership?
FOMC "consists of twelve voting members: the seven members of the Federal Reserve Board and five of the twelve Federal Reserve Bank presidents."
Jolly good show there, Wikipedia. 'Atta boy!
Except that now there are only five members instead of seven.
Don't ask me why that is or what the fuck is going on - it's too complicated for me.
So, point - instead of the seven Fed Board members, there are only five, and all are Living People (and all are Jewish).
The FOMC also has "five representatives selected from the regional Federal Reserve Banks. The representative from the Second District, New York, (currently Timothy Geithner) is a permanent member, while the rest of the banks rotate at two- and three-year intervals."
Lets see who is rotated into position of leadership from the Federal Reserve Banks.
Going by federalreserve.gov List of Federal Reserve Banks, we have the 12 Fed Banks:
Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Richmond, Atlanta, Chicago, St Louis, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Dallas, San Francisco.
Lets do a quick experiment: lets go to the Wikipedia Categories for each president of each Federal Reserve Bank. Lets check the Categories for each. Lets check their backgrounds.
Boston's Federal Reserve Bank's president is Eric S. Rosengren, who is Jewish.
Cleveland Bank's Sandra Pianalto was born in Italy.
Jeffrey M. Lacker, from Richmond's Fed Bank, is Jewish. Note that this one I am guessing, because Wikipedia states that "Dr. Lacker serves as director for the board of the Richmond Jewish Foundation", while it does NOT have a Category listing him as an American Jew. So - a guess, then.
Gary H. Stern, from Minneapolis' Fed Bank is Jewish per Wikipedia Category American Jews.
Richard W. Fisher, from Dallas' Fed Bank, "A first-generation American, Fisher was born in Los Angeles, California but grew up in Mexico. His father was Australian, while his mother was South African, of Norwegian descent." (Talk about a globalist advocate there!). But he "is former vice chairman of Kissinger McLarty Associates, a strategic advisory firm chaired by former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger". (allasfed.org/news/bios/fisher.html).
Curiously, Timothy F. Geithner also worked for Dr. Kissinger for the same company. No idea if he is Jewish or not.
For Chicago, the president is now Charles L. Evans, but it used to be, until recently, a Mr. Michael Moskow.
Michael Moskow's Wikipedia page does not have American Jews Category, but he is in the Category Living Persons. So, he is not Jewish at all but... wait...
NYTimes article reports the joyous news that Mr. Michael Moskow and Miss Suzanne Kopp were married. Mr. Michael Moskow's father (R.I.P.) was Jacob Mokow, and his mother (R.I.P.) was Sylvia Moskow.
They were members of B'nai Jeshurun (PDF document is in here - open with Acrobat, can take a long time). And both Sylvia and Jacob are honored in the Jewish congregation in the "Pulpit Flower Fund".
So, looking at Michael Moskow's Wikipedia Categories we get: Categories: American economist stubs | Living people | American economists | Economists | Federal Reserve economists | People from Chicago.
Well, those are the limits of Wikipedia. He is a member of Living People, but not American Jews.
Guess, according to Wikipedia, only his parents were Jewish, but not their son who is apparently not Jewish.
Google has its limits. I cannot, and refuse to call someone Jewish based on his racial characteristics, or his last name. That is stormfront territory, the neo-nazi bigots. I can, and do, however, report what's what on this small blog, because of no sponsors and no fear to my professional career or lifestyle (unlike the TV "news" people who cannot report much of actual world news, nor pundits who cannot discuss some taboo topics).
So, I tried to do a quick and dirty investigation of the Fed's people backgrounds: religious, ethnic, whatever. I have succeeded up to a point, where on the lower levels things become more mumbled and the sources not as readily available.
Besides, in our happy "race free culture", where "religion is not important", the Federal Reserve Banks' presidents do not run around making speeches, shouting to all and sundry "I am Jewish!".
The rest of the good folks at the Fed's Banks I am assuming are... Living People.
So, lets sum up this racist, clearly rambling, anti-semitic, bigoted, idiotic, anti-humanity rant.
Jews make up about (roughly, according to all sources) 2% of the population of the United States of America.
All five (out of five) of the Federal Reserve Board are Jewish.
They are joined at the top when a vote needs to be taken by the Fed organization in the so called Federal open market committee (or FOMC) by five representatives selected from the regional Federal Reserve Banks (there are 12 of these).
So, of the 12 presidents of the Federal Reserve Banks, three of them (and four was the magic number, as Mr. Moskow, the "Wikipedia non-Jewish Jew", used to be the Chicago Fed Bank president) are Jewish.
So, on top, 5 out of 5 Board Members of the Fed are Jewish.
Just below, 3 out of 12 are Jewish (perhaps the ratio is bigger, but I need proof for this somewhat respectable blog).
Take this for what it's worth, but we need a black guy on the Board. A woman. A Chinese-American. A gentile, perhaps (ooooops).
Let the anti-semitism, bigot, racist, KKK member (am I missing some here?) cat calls commence...
Federal Reserve web page for kids!.
Am not making this shit up...
I dare you to click.
